Social Value Millionaires!
Our annual Social Impact Report (SROI) is in for 2018-19 and we are totally blown away by the results. Circle Community generated £625,708 last year, which means we have officially returned £1.44 million to society - wow!
This SROI figure was provided by our friends at the University of Northampton (UoN). It's an exciting discovery because with this information we can gain a better understanding of the social impact delivered by Circle. This social impact is produced solely through the work we do supporting young unemployed people to build their confidence, self-belief, employable skills and, ultimately, guiding them towards finding sustainable employment.
The UoN report looked at data from the young people who took part in our Back Your Future programme. This data was recorded before, during, and after each young person's completion of the programme. The factors analysed include: the amount of money trainees will earn after coming off their benefits, and the increase in saving for the local public authorities.
A key part of this report has been the ways in which Circle is able to record the information needed to complete it. One of the major factors of this data is the work we have done to improve the confidence of our trainees, as well as the work we do with corporate partners. These valued and long-standing corporate relationships provide Circle with financial support, whilst our trainees gain even more work experience opportunities.
Last year alone Circle had 9 corporate partners, and with these partnerships we have been able to generate over 850 hours of volunteering time for employees- turning the idea of Corporate Social Responsibility into real, tangible, and meaningful impact.
